Vision
Our vision is to become a model sporting event that inspires and unites through athletics.
We aim to amplify our social impact by promoting inclusion, access to sport for all, and the development of young talent, all while minimizing our environmental footprint through sustainable, eco-conscious practices.
Athletissima strives to be a driver of positive change, proving that athletic performance can go hand in hand with social responsibility and environmental protection.
We will achieve this in close collaboration with all our stakeholders, partners and suppliers, staff and volunteers, the public and the athletes, while continuing to meet the standards of the Wanda Diamond League, the series of the world’s 15 premier meetings, and of World Athletics.
As part of the Athletics for a Better World programme, World Athletics has awarded Athletissima the Gold Certification, recognising our commitment to building a more responsible and purpose-driven sport.
Athletissima is also certified as a Vaud Ambassador and part of the Swisstainable programme, two labels that recognize efforts to promote the Vaud region, support the local economy, and integrate sustainable practices into both the hosting and organisation of the event. In this way, Athletissima contributes to the international visibility of Lausanne and the canton of Vaud, while helping to foster more sustainable events and tourism.

Commitments
ENVIRONMENT
Athletissima is committed to protecting the environment by adopting sustainable practices that minimize our ecological footprint.
Among other actions, we promote the use of public transport and soft mobility, reduce waste and ensure proper recycling, optimize our energy consumption, 100% sourced from renewables, and offer healthy, locally sourced food alternatives.
SOCIAL
Sport, and athletics in particular, is a powerful driver of inclusion. We celebrate diversity and uphold a zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of discrimination.
We are actively committed to creating a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone. This includes offering certain events free of charge, promoting sport among young people, ensuring gender parity across the competitions we organize, and bringing together athletes from all backgrounds.
GOVERNANCE
We achieve our goals through transparent, collaborative governance. We prioritize local partners and suppliers who share our values of social responsibility.
Our approach is both authentic and pragmatic, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the event and allowing athletes to continue inspiring future generations.
mobilitY
To help protect our planet and make your journey easier, we strongly encourage you to use public transportation when coming to Athletissima. Here, you’ll find all the tips you need to make the most of your experience.
accessibility
Persons with reduced mobility have access to a dedicated seating area and require a ticket, available free of charge. Accompanying persons must also order their own ticket to be seated directly behind. Reserved parking spaces are available at the Bois-Mermet prison (with a parking permit).
diversity
In Swiss athletics, diversity is a true source of strength. Women and men, people from different cultures, generations, and linguistic regions, athletes with or without disabilities, all share the same passion, train side by side, and compete with equal rights. Read our Guidelines on Diversity, Accessibility, and Inclusion.
We are also part of the joint campaign “Together on Track”, led by key players in Swiss athletics. Through inspiring projects and stories, the campaign highlights team spirit and diversity, while encouraging other unifying initiatives.
Although athletics often stands out as a pioneer in inclusion, there is still untapped potential to further promote inclusiveness and togetherness within our sport.
The goal of “Together on Track” is to nurture and strengthen, day after day, the bonds, diversity, and solidarity within the Swiss athletics community.
This campaign is the result of a collaboration between Swiss Athletics, Athletissima Lausanne, and Weltklasse Zürich, and remains open to all Swiss athletics organisations wishing to contribute with their own initiatives.
